Hello,
Featherstone
Families!
I
am
Laura
Shepard
and
this
year
I
am
teaching
2nd
and
3rd
grade
English
Language
Learners.
I
am
teaching
reading,
writing,
and
speaking
in
small
groups
during
their
Language
Arts
block.
Each
group
receives
30-
45
minutes
each
day
of
intensive
language
study.
My
students
develop
their
English
proficiency
while
also
learning
content
material
in
Science,
Math,
Social
Studies
and
Technology.
I
grew
up
in
Maine,
but
have
spent
my
adult
life
living
in
Massachusetts,
Florida,
Alabama,
California
and
Virginia.
It
has
been
my
dream
to
teach
since
I
was
a
child,
and,
after
switching
careers,
I
have
found
my
passion
working
with
students
who
are
learning
English
as
an
additional
language.

¡ Hola, familias Featherstone! Soy Laura Shepard y este año estoy enseñando estudiantes de Inglés de 2 y 3º grado. Estoy enseñando a leer, escribir y hablar en pequeños grupos durante su bloque de lenguaje.
Cada grupo recibe 30 a 45 minutos cada día de estudio intensivo de idiomas. Mis estudiantes desarrollan su dominio del inglés mientras también aprenden material en ciencia, matemáticas, estudios sociales y tecnología.
Crecí en Maine, pero he pasado mi vida adulta viviendo en Massachusetts, Florida, Alabama, California y Virginia.
Ha sido mi sueño enseñar desde que era una niña, y, después de cambiar de carrera, he encontrado mi pasión trabajando con estudiantes que están aprendiendo inglés como un idioma adicional.
